These terms apply when you book an appointment with a business that uses BookOS, a platform operated by NovelLogic Ventures Inc. on behalf of that business. By checking the agreement box, completing a booking, and providing a payment method on file, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms — including the cancellation, late-cancellation, no-show, and deposit-charge provisions below.
The specific amounts that apply to your booking — the deposit, the free cancellation window, and the late-cancellation and no-show fees — are set by the business and shown to you at the time of booking, before you confirm.
1. Booking and confirmation
When you book, you select a service, a time, and (where applicable) a staff member. Your booking is confirmed once you complete the booking steps, including providing a valid payment method on file. A confirmation is sent to you by email.
2. Payment method on file
To hold your appointment, a valid, unexpired payment card on file is required. This card is stored securely by Stripe, the payment processor — your full card number is never stored by BookOS or the business. A valid card on file is required to complete a booking; if your card expires, you will be asked to update it before booking again.
3. Cancellation policy
You may cancel free of charge up to the free-cancellation window set by the business and shown to you at booking.
If you cancel inside that window ("late cancellation"), a late-cancellation fee — calculated as the percentage of the deposit shown to you at booking — may be charged to your card on file.
4. No-show policy
If you do not attend your appointment and do not cancel ("no-show"), a no-show fee — calculated as the percentage of the deposit shown to you at booking — may be charged to your card on file.
5. Deposits and authorization to charge
For services that require a deposit, a deposit — calculated as the percentage of the service price shown to you at booking — is held against your card on file at the time of booking.
By completing a booking, you expressly authorize the business and its payment processor to store your payment method and to charge that payment method for the deposit, late-cancellation fee, or no-show fee described in these terms, up to the amounts disclosed to you at the time of booking, where those charges become payable under this policy. You acknowledge that this authorization is provided in advance for future charges that may arise if you cancel late, fail to attend, or otherwise trigger a charge under these terms.
6. Refunds
Charges applied under the cancellation, late-cancellation, or no-show policy are generally final, as they compensate the business for reserved appointment time and related loss. However, if you believe a charge was applied in error, contact the business promptly using the details it provides.
Nothing in these terms limits any non-waivable rights or remedies you may have under applicable law.
7. Changes by the business
A business may need to reschedule or cancel an appointment — for example, due to staff illness. If the business cancels, any deposit held is released, and the business will work with you to rebook.
8. Your information
Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains what is collected, why, and your rights. Please review it alongside these terms.
9. Limitation of liability
The business provides its services with reasonable care and skill. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the business is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from the booking service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including any non-waivable consumer rights.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable in British Columbia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or a booking will be brought before the courts of British Columbia, unless applicable consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
11. Contact
For any question about these terms, a booking, or a charge, contact the business you booked with using the details it provides. For questions about the BookOS platform itself, contact NovelLogic Ventures Inc. at support@novellogic.ca.
The specific deposit, cancellation window, and fee amounts for your booking are set by the business and shown to you before you confirm.
